Ballito Lifestyle Centre Bags National Marketing Award

Lifestyle Centre was awarded a Gold Footprint Marketing Award last week at the 2018 South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) Congress. The campaign, conceptualized and executed by the Centre’s inhouse marketing team, for the Redevelopment and Launch of The Market in 2018, won the category of Grand Opening Expansion and/or Renovation.

The Annual SACSC Footprint Marketing Awards seek to recognise exceptional shopping centre marketing, innovation and creative achievements, together with economic success, within the South African property industry. According to the (SACSC), the Footprint Marketing Awards celebrates excellence in Shopping Centre Marketing. Marketing remains a fundamental element of any successful business and the skill and creative process of implementing the “perfect” promotion or publicity is often underestimated and overlooked. It is with this purpose that the SACSC recognises the importance of these awards and that the acknowledgement, recognition and the contribution made by the relevant marketers and centres to this dynamic retailing industry, is attributed where due.

The first round of judging is undertaken by an adjudication committee of industry professionals, made up of a combination of shopping centre marketing experts, asset managers, managing agents and owner representatives. Thereafter international industry experts and independent marketing specialists select finalists and winners.

Bruce Rencken, co-owner of Lifestyle Centre, acknowledged the award as “Brilliant, incredible! We have really focussed on the authenticity of our marketing and customer communication and this is an acknowledgement of just how important a role the marketing strategy and all the campaigns and initiatives have played in the success of the redevelopment and repositioning of Lifestyle Centre.”

Category winners are automatically entered into the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) VIVA Awards which are the best of the best worldwide awards (Announced in Las Vegas ICSC RECon in 2019).
