Lifestyle Centre is intent on unwrapping some holiday magic for North Coast locals and holidaymakers in the upcoming December and January summer holidays. Bruce Rencken, Lifestyle Centre Owner, has confirmed that the centre’s minimum trading hours will be extended during the peak festive season to 8am – 7pm between 12 December 2024 and 4 January 2025, including all public holidays, with only a few tenants opting not to trade on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
The retail stores in The Market will also operate for the longer hours of 8am – 7pm, from 12 December 2024 – 4 January 2025, with the various eateries in the Market opening till 10pm every day between 6 December 2024 – 11 January 2025. The Market will be closed on Christmas Day and all traders (including eateries) will close at 7pm on 31 December.
Eat Street restaurants will be open 11am – 11pm daily, including public holidays. Some will be closed on Christmas Day. To visit their respective websites for bookings, see www.ballitolifestylecentre.co.za/eatstreet/.

Anchor tenant Lifestyle SUPERSPAR will be open 7am – 8pm daily from 28 November 2024 – 12 January 2025, including all public holidays. The only exception is Christmas Day, when they will close at 6pm. For the convenience of their customers during this busy time of the year, they will also open 6am – 8pm on 23, 24, 30 and 31 December.

An abundance of live music will create a festive holiday atmosphere throughout the centre every day from 12 December 2024 to 5 January 2025. In addition to daily morning piano sessions at The Market, shoppers and diners can expect to find an array of talented, local musicians plying their trade at The Market and Eat Street during lunch and dinner every day, including The Kickstands, Quiet Storm, Qadasi & Maqhinga, The Black Lapels, Hale Mary, Afritude and other superb acts. Customers at The Studios will be able to turn off and tune in to the sounds of live music on weekend mornings. Special Christmas Carol performances will also take place around the centre in the lead up to Christmas.
Sundowners on Eat Street will continue daily, with great sundowner offers on food and drinks between 4 and 6pm, and live DJs creating a festive vibe on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during this time.
The weekly music lineup can be found at www.ballitolifestylecentre.co.za/events/ or keep an eye on their Facebook (@ballitolifestylecentre) or Instagram (@lifestylecentreballito) pages.
Another good reason to follow Lifestyle Centre on social media is to enter their Countdown to Christmas competition where R100 000 worth of prizes are up for grabs until 25 December, with incredible daily giveaways from the superb stores in the centre.
And to top it all off, the centre will be offering a complimentary gift wrapping service between 20 and 24 December. Three gift wrapping stations will be open from 10am to 6pm to wrap any gifts bought at a Lifestyle Centre store over these days in the run up to Christmas. This service will be offered free of charge and customers are invited to make a small contribution to Summer Hill House via Zapper if they wish.
“Lifestyle Centre is an integral part of Ballito and we have worked hard at creating beautiful settings for our customers in which to shop and enjoy the food on offer,” said Rencken. “We celebrated our 21st birthday earlier this year and received such great feedback from our customers as to why they love shopping and hanging out here. We wanted to build on this and create some festive cheer in and around the centre, and trust that our customers will enjoy Christmas, the Ballito way, with us over this holiday period. The Lifestyle Centre family wishes that all of our customers will experience the gift of holiday magic in some way this festive season!”
